Delaware County’s Tourism Agency Changes Name

Delaware County's tourism agency operates out of the restored Rose Tree Tavern in Media's Rose Tree Park.

Destination Delco, Delaware County’s tourism agency, has changed its name and is now doing business as Visit Delco, PA.

“Locals know Delaware County is a suburb of the City of Philadelphia, but visitors often confuse us with the State of Delaware,” said Executive Director Steve Byrne. “We wanted our name to be more identifiable and a call-to-action that’s engaging to both leisure and business travelers in an industry-familiar way.”

Byrne said that changing the bureau’s name was not so much a revolution, as it was an evolution.

“Delaware County has a culture that is recognized and respected, and we’ve preserved that unique character by retaining the familiar ‘Delco’ moniker,” he said. “We have a flourishing arts community and thriving culinary scene, diverse lodging options and meeting spaces, beautiful gardens and arboretums, and family-friendly attractions. Delaware County combines the best of the city with the best of the suburbs, and we hope you’ll come visit.”

The name change is effective immediately and has already been integrated into the organization’s website, advertising, social media, and marketing efforts. Click here to learn more.
