CCEDC Adds Seven New Board Members

The Chester County Economic Development Council(CCEDC) recently voted to add seven new members to its board of directors.  The new additions include Vanessa Briggs of Brandywine Health Foundation, Mark Curtin of United Parcel Service, Philip Earley of Lieberman Earley & Company, Clare Freimuth of BB&T, Michael J. Kelly of CCRES, Michael Long of Cerner, and Anand Solanki of Citadel FCU.

Michael Grigalonis, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Chester County Economic Development Council noted “We are honored to add these seven new board members to our organization.  We welcome their commitment to CCEDC and to making Chester County a great place for businesses and residents.”

Vanessa Briggs

Vanessa B. Briggs, MBA, RD serves as the President and CEO of the Brandywine Health Foundation Chester County, Pennsylvania, responsible for guiding the overall organizational vision, strategic direction, and operations to ensure the successful fulfillment of the Foundation’s mission. She manages the Foundation’s endowment by providing stewardship, leadership, and guidance on investing $1 million in grants to improve community health.

Ms. Briggs’ lifelong passion remains consistent and she approaches her work through an equity lens to improve the health, social, and economic well-being for marginalized communities of color.  She has a proven track record of building strategic community partnerships, authentically engaging with community, and strengthening the non-profit sector to embody the value that all groups have a voice and have access to resources and opportunities to improve the quality of their lives.

Mark Curtin

Mark Curtin joined United Parcel Service on June 12, 2006 as a sales support representative in the Philadelphia market.

Mark has held various customer facing sales and solutions positions throughout the last 13 years.  Mark is currently an Area Sales Manager responsible for 6 sales territories throughout Chester County.

A native of Morton, PA Curtin completed a BA in Marketing from St. Joseph’s University in 2000 and an MBA from Widener University in 2005.  He enjoys Philadelphia sports and Chester County microbrews.  He is married to his wife Larissa and has two sons Michael (12) and Daniel (7) and they currently reside in Thornbury Township.

Philip Earley

Philip Earley is a partner at Lieberman Earley & Company.  He  has been active in the selling and leasing of commercial real estate since 1988.

Philip was a major dealmaker for Seneca Roach Commercial Property Services prior to joining John Lieberman in 1997 to form Lieberman Earley & Co.  He has represented such clients as CFM Technologies now known as Mattson Technology Inc., of West Chester; Ciba-Geigy, Ltd., of Geneva, Switzerland; Sun Oil; Phoenixville Hospital; Liberty Property Trust of Malvern and The Oaklands Business Park.  He has negotiated more than 300 transactions in his brokerage career involving agreements valued at more than $300 million.  The largest of those agreements was the representation of CFM Technologies in the sale and lease of more than 350,000 square feet of office and high-technology assembly space in Chester County.

Clare Freimuth

Clare Freimuth is a Vice President at Branch Banking & Trust Company (BB&T) serving commercial clients in Chester and Delaware County and the surrounding area.   In her commercial banking role, Clare partners with businesses and nonprofits providing solutions to help plan and execute for the future, through BB&T’s consultative and collaborative approach.

Clare enjoys and prioritizes being engaged and active in her community through involvement in local chambers and volunteering. She currently serves on the Upper Main Line YMCA Advisory Board, the Board Development Committee for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, and the Women Influencing Business Committee for the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry.

Michael J. Kelly

Michael J. Kelly, Ed.D., J.D. is the Executive Director for CCRES, Inc., a non-profit organization of approximately 1300 employees dedicated to providing educational and behavioral health services to education agencies throughout the region.  Prior to joining CCRES in 2016, Dr. Kelly served for 30 years in public education, starting out as a special education teacher and retiring as a superintendent.  During his career in education, Michael has had the pleasure of working at Chichester School District, West Chester Area School District, Lower Merion School District, and Radnor Township School District.

He is a graduate of West Chester University receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology and teaching certification in the area of special education.  Dr. Kelly continued his education at Widener University School of Law earning a law degree, Penn State University receiving certification as a special education supervisor, and Immaculata University where he earned his doctorate in educational leadership.

Michael Long

As the Vice President and General Manager of CernerWorks, Malvern, Mike Long focuses on the company’s Managed Services Hosting Operations.   He has more than 30years of healthcare IT expertise with leadership experience across several areas:  Managed services hosting, professional services, managed services outsourcing, education services, customer service, image knowledge management, and revenue cycle solutions.

Client satisfaction is the cornerstone of Mike’s focus. He is passionate about serving our clients and enabling clients to achieve their healthcare IT outcomes and industry recognition.

Mike is a graduate of Temple University and received his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.  Mike is a recipient of the Cerner Catherine E. Mueller Service Excellence Award in 2017.  Mike previously led the Siemens Health Services Strategic CIO Council.

Anand Solanki

Anand Solanki, currently CFO at Citadel FCU, has been in the financial services industry for 18 years and has overseen various finance and risk management functions. Prior to Citadel, he spent 10 years at Discover Financial Services, and at Capital One before that.

Anand is also on the board of The Chester County Food Bank, and his family enjoys supporting Community Volunteers in Medicine, and Feed My Starving Children.

Anand is a Certified Treasury Professional and earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, he also holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.
