West Chester native Tina DiSciullo and her then-fiancé Kyle Acker put their love for all things sci-fi on full display for their wedding, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The two met in 2007, when they were assigned suites across from each other in the Drexel University dorms. Before long, they bonded over their joint love for science fiction.

Their friendship grew into a romance after DiSciullo returned from a year studying in Paris. On New Year’s Eve 2017, Acker asked DiSciullo to marry him, and she happily accepted.

The pair decided to include their love for “sci-fi nerdiness” into their ceremony last April at Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Acker walked down the aisle to “Raiders March” from Indiana Jones, while DiSciullo and her father walked together to “Pepperland” from The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.

DiSciullo’s stepbrother, Michael, officiated.

“On behalf of myself and everyone here, we all wish you joy, happiness, and love always,” he said.

The guests echoed his sentiment with a line from one of their favorite shows, Battlestar Galactica: “So say we all!”
