Holly Peters Oriental Rugs, a gallery in Kennett Square, offers residents a trip around the world through rugs that reflect the culture and traditions of many places from all over the globe, writes Tara Smith for Southern Chester County Weeklies.

Peters believes that a rug is an investment and that purchasing one requires taking part in a very hands-on decision-making process.

“I look at rugs the way I look at art,” she said. “It’s a big category, and you have to look at a lot of rugs and edit with your own eye what you like — and especially what you don’t like.”

Her spacious, light-filled gallery is a perfect place to start that process. In addition to displaying all the rugs, it also offers an immersive experience in the ancient and enduring art of rug-making.

Full range of rug repair, restoration, and cleaning services are also part of the deal.

Peters also uses her gallery to host a number of community events.
