The YMCA of Greater Brandywine’s biannual Girls on the Run and STRIDE for Boys 5K will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, June 1 at the New Garden Airport in Toughkenamon.

The event celebrates the culmination of 10-week running and self-esteem programs.

“This event embodies the mission of our Y,” said Andi Youndt, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “The girls and boys not only learn healthy habits with the running, but also to be confident in themselves and respectful of others. The camaraderie they have built over the 10-week programs is clearly visible during the 5K, and there is always a moment during which these amazing kids do something so kind and/or supportive that it brings a tear to my eye.”

There is still time to register if you wish to join the hundreds of girls and boys, as well as their buddies and community runners, for this inspirational run. Click here.
