Unionville High School graduate Ryan Lohin has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.

The Lightning selected the Chadds Ford native in the seventh round of the NHL Draft in 2016, two years after he graduated high school.

Lohin spent two seasons as an amateur with the Madison (Wisc.) Capitols of the United States Hockey League, before competing for three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

During the 2018-19 season at UMass-Lowell, the 22-year-old served as captain, playing in 33 regular season games and posting 12 goals and 27 points to go along with a plus-seven rating.

The 6-foot-0 forward played 110 career games for the River Hawks, collecting 33 goals and 81 points.

Lohin will immediately report to the Syracuse Crunch, the Lightning’s affiliate in the American Hockey League, so that he may practice and potentially play for the team as it continues its push into the playoffs.
