Kristina Wisneski, the chef at Amis Trattoria in Devon Yard, won a recent episode of Chopped on the Food Network, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.
A mainstay in the region’s culinary community, Wisneski knew since she was a teenager that she wanted to become a professional in the industry.
“Since a young age, I always cooked with my great grandmother, mom, and dad,” she said.
Throughout her life, Wisneski was inspired by the strong women in her family, along with her father, who taught her to always follow her heart. In her professional life, her most important mentor was Chef Mike Ditchfield, a professor at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she earned her degree.
“He really took me under his wing and taught me all he could,” said Wisneski.
Today, her biggest challenge is ensuring everything is right for her customers.
“I want them to come in and enjoy their experience, from sitting down and listening to specials to getting their food and loving what they are eating,” she said.
