Walnut Green Farm in Kennett Square will welcome the heir to one of the winners of horse racing’s Triple Crown, writes Kayla Molczan for ButlerRadio.com.

And the birth, slated for mid-March, can be watched live on camera.

The 100-acre Walnut Green Farm has produced several horses of championship caliber throughout its 14-year history. The foal’s father is American Pharaoh, winner of the 2015 Triple Crown, and its mother is High Quail, sired by the famous Tiznow in 2006.

American Pharaoh was the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978.

The idea to stream the foal’s birth came from a conversation between the owner of the farm, Mark Reid, and the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association. Reid hopes to capture some of the same excitement as when 1.2 million people watched April the Giraffe give birth live at a New York zoo in 2017.

“It’s hard to say what the future holds for this foal, but we predict big things, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him or her to the world,” said Pete Peterson, president of the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association.

The stream is already available and can be accessed by clicking here.
