Chester County is home to 11 of the state’s Top 100 highest-scoring schools on the sixth-grade PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) exams, writes Ethan Lott for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The PSSAs are taken by students in grades three through eight, whereas students in high school take the Keystone Exams. The Pittsburgh Business Times used the results recently released by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to create the list of the Top 100 highest-scoring schools on the sixth-grade exam for the 2017-18 school year.

Four of the 11 Chester County schools that made the list are in the Owen J. Roberts School District, including the Top Three, which are preceded by their overall ranking:

  • 2. West Vincent Elementary School
  • 23. French Creek Elementary School
  • 25. East Coventry Elementary School

North Coventry Elementary School, meanwhile, checked in at No. 57.

The other seven Chester County schools are:

  • 27. Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School
  • 34. Charles F. Patton Middle School (Unionville-Chadds Ford S.D.)
  • 41. Great Valley Middle School
  • 58. Valley Forge Middle School (Tredyffrin-Easttown S.D.)
  • 78. Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center (Downingtown S.D.)
  • 84. Fugett Middle School (West Chester S.D.)
  • 95. Stetson Middle School (West Chester S.D.)
