Immaculata University

Immaculata has announced a new program-to-program partnership, beginning this fall, with Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs. The articulation agreement allows graduates of Immaculata’s Bachelor of Science in Emergency Planning & Management (EPM) to be automatically recommended for enrollment in Penn State’s Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security and have several requirements waived.

Similar to the discipline of emergency management, homeland security follows an all-hazards approach, assessing and planning for both natural and man-made risks. Penn State’s program also provides the flexibility for Immaculata graduates to continue to focus on emergency management while broadening their knowledge about securing the homeland. The 33-credit program is delivered exclusively online and has been ranked as one of the country’s top master’s degrees in homeland security.

This is the first pathway to graduate school for students of Immaculata’s EPM program. “We have numerous articulation agreements with community and two-year colleges that allow their graduates to easily enroll in our EPM degree program, so I am really proud that our first articulation agreement with a graduate program is with Penn State’s renowned homeland security program,” said Dr. George Schwartz, director of Immaculata’s EPM program.

CarSense

CarSense was recently selected as one of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work. To celebrate, the company held pig roasts and award ceremonies for its employees at its locations throughout the Delaware Valley, including Chester Springs.

Of the 800,000 businesses rated on Glassdoor, CarSense was ranked No. 31. CarSense consistently ranks among the Top Workplaces in Philadelphia, but this is its first national recognition.

CarSense is growing and will be expanding with a new location in Glen Mills this summer.

Great Valley Community Organization

The GVCO has purchased seven acres of ground at 51 North Bacton Hill Road in Malvern from the Great Valley School District for $959,000. Following subdivision approval from the East Whiteland Township, GVCO has recorded the deed and taken ownership of the property.

GVCO, a local community organization founded in 2001, has been operating out of 10,000 square feet of leased space at 17-19 North Bacton Hill Road since 2005. The organization provides a wide variety of community programming for children, adults, and seniors in the Great Valley School District and the surrounding area.

The community organization has been raising funds since late 2015 through its Building Connections capital campaign. To date, it has raised just under $2 million from more than 220 donors throughout the Great Valley community. The goal is to continue to raise funds and secure financing to build a 41,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art community center. Click here for more information.
