Two puppies that are being trained by Cochranville-based Canine Partners for Life to become service dogs have been named Bell and Rocky by popular vote, writes Alicia Vitarelli for 6ABC.

The puppies were named by 6ABC viewers. The girl was named after the brave and determined Disney princess from the Beauty and the Beast movie and the Liberty Bell. This is a fitting sign of independence and exactly what Canine Partners for Life stands for.

“People who are afraid to go out in public because they could have a seizure or fall, when they get a partnership of a dog, they gain their independence,” said Janie Cramer, Executive Director of Canine Partners for Life.

Rocky got his name for being a champion and an underdog with a lot of fight and heart.

Rocky and Bell are nearly nine weeks old. It will take around two and a half years to train them to become the ultimate life partners.

“The fun is magical for these dogs and their partners,” said Cramer. “The dog will anticipate what their partner needs.”
