West Chester Woman Marries English Cricket Star

English cricketer Liam Plunkett and West Chester native Emeleah Erb visit the Taj Mahal.

When the schedule of ODI (One Day International) cricket matches got moved to October by host country Sri Lanka, English cricketer Liam Plunkett had to decide whether to postpone his long-planned wedding to his fiancée, West Chester native Emeleah Erb, or skip the first three matches, writes Will Macpherson for the Evening Standard.

He opted to press ahead with the wedding. One of the main reasons for his decision was that 70 friends and family members of his fiancée had already booked flights to England for the big event.

“A lot of people had booked flights, and I wasn’t interested in paying them back,” said Plunkett.

Before the wedding that took place earlier this month, Plunkett had spent six weeks with Emeleah in West Chester. This created a problem for the player who was preparing for the rigors of international cricket, but he managed to find a solution.

“I found an indoor center,” he said, “so I could practice my skills.”
