Cheese Journeys, a travel company that aims to create unforgettable trips that allow people to indulge their passion for artisan cheeses, is bringing turophiles to Chester County with a four-day tour that presents Pennsylvania cheese from creation to distribution and pairing, writes Eric Althoff for the Napa Valley (Calif.) Register.

The journey is led by tour guide Anna Juhl and Tenaya Darlington, also known as “Madame Fromage.” Darlington has written several books on cheese pairing and regularly blogs about cheese.

The tour begins in Philadelphia at the Italian Market, before moving to Chester County for lodging at The Inn at Grace Winery. Here, the participants are offered a variety of tasty wines paired with local cheeses, including from nearby Birchrun Hills Farm and the Farm at Doe Run.

One of the stops on Day Two is Victory Brewing Company, which welcomes the cheese lovers with pre-chosen ales.

Day Three takes the turophiles to the Artisan Exchange farmers’ market in West Chester. The day then continues at Birchrun Hills Farm for a tour of the milking facilities and a picnic.

The final day is at Phoenixville’s Artifaqt Gallery, where homemade cheese boards are crafted.
