The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first of its kind in the country. It is a public/private partnership among Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.
“As a firm, we take great pride in focusing on our community, creating a supportive work environment for our employees, and building a camaraderie among our employees that goes deeper than just co-workers,” said Michelle Foster, MacElree Harvey’s CEO. “Our employees embrace this culture, allowing us to provide superior service to our clients. I am honored that MacElree Harvey has been recognized by Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania.”
The program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, as they benefit the state’s economy and its workforce. Employers are categorized based upon the total number of employees they have in the United States:
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA.
The first part of this process was evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation.
The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
MacElree Harvey will be recognized at an awards banquet for the Best Places to Work in PA on Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Lancaster County Convention Center.
