For the 20th consecutive year, Home of the Sparrow will host its Annual Fashion Show – The Power of the Purse – a unique fundraiser that is a testament to the power of women supporting women with the goal to end homelessness in Chester County.

The Exton-based nonprofit that partners with women facing homelessness to secure housing, achieve long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures will host the event on Thursday, Nov. 1 at The Desmond in Malvern.

The evening of fun begins with boutique shopping from 5-7 PM while cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are served. It’s a great time to get started on your holiday shopping and to find a special gift for yourself and your loved ones. The entertainment kicks up a notch with a runway fashion show presented by QVC host Jayne Brown – with models donning the wares of local boutiques and clothing stores – and dinner from 7-9 PM.

A highlight of the event is The Power of the Purse Raffle, featuring a one-of-a-kind leather purse, exclusively designed for Home of the Sparrow by Tesoro Design. This locally based, female-led business was built to empower women and provide products, all made in America, that make women’s lives easier. Raffle tickets are available online for $25.

For more than 24 years, Home of the Sparrow has served as a regional leader in the provision of unique and successful housing programs and supportive services to prevent women and children from experiencing homelessness in Chester County.

All proceeds from The Power of the Purse support women and children facing or experiencing homelessness in our community to build better futures for themselves and their children.
