Exton-Based Developer Turns Frustration into Innovation with New Stand for Mobile Devices

By

Hussain Rangwala, a software developer based in Exton, has turned his frustration over not being able to find a stand that holds his phone the way he wants into innovation, writes Roberto Torres for Technical.ly Philly.

After failing to find a versatile stand in the market, Rangwala has created a portable, five-in-one stand for mobile devices.

His product, Uboh, is a pocket-sized stand and that can be used as a car mount, tripod stand, or a magnetic holder. It also has a nano-suction cup to give users the flexibility to adjust their phones and tablets to multiple angles.

Rangwala, who works for Iron Mountain, has already patented and 3D-printed the first prototype of his new stand.

“I wanted something that could be versatile enough so people don’t have to go out and buy multiple things,” said Rangwala.

To help fund its mass-production, Rangwala has started a $15,000 Indiegogo campaign. He is offering early backers the first examples of his finished stand for $24, and expects to start shipping the product in October.

“After the campaign, I want to sell it through e-commerce sites like Amazon and Shopify,” said Rangwala.
