Owner’s Passion for ‘Structures No One Wants Anymore’ Fuels Kennett Square’s Renewal Dynamics

Renewal Dynamics, a Kennett Square-based architectural firm, is devoted to preserving the past for future enjoyment through the restoration and adaptive re-use of historic and unique structures in Chester County, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.

The three-year-old company was founded by John Rosecrans, who has made a career out of saving and restoring structures, instead of just demolishing them to build anew.

The firm has worked on numerous projects in Chester County, including a barn in Chadds Ford that has become the Ten Gallon Hat Winery’s tasting room and the conversion of another barn into office and retail space in the Willowdale Town Center.

Renewal Dynamics has also repurposed several barns into private residences.

“Most of the projects that we work on are structures that people don’t know what to do with, and most are simply looked at as something to tear down,” said Rosecrans. “In our region, we have some very talented architects who can restore historic structures back to what they originally were, but my passion can be found in structures that no one wants anymore.”
