Just in time for Mother’s Day, a mother and daughter graduated together from West Chester University last Saturday, according to a report from The Pottstown Mercury.

Denise Meikle graduated in the morning, while her daughter Nicole graduated in the afternoon.

Denise works at WCU’s Office of Candidate Services in the College of Education and Social Work. Taking one or two courses per semester, she earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies in 12 years.

Nicole was a fine arts major in graphics and interactive design who graduated in four years.

“She’s my best friend,” Nicole said of her mother.
