Chester County Fund for Women and Girls

The CCFWG is now accepting applications for the 15th class of its award-winning Girls Advisory Board (GAB) program. Applications are available here and will be accepted until Friday, May 25.

The CCFWG is looking for applicants from high school girls living in Chester County who will enter their sophomore or junior year in the fall. If selected, the program is free to all participants – accepted girls are also able to participate in GAB for up to two years.

One of only a few programs of its kind in the country, GAB offers a unique opportunity for local high school girls looking to get involved in their communities and learn about the grantmaking process. Each GAB class awards $20,000 in grants to local nonprofits of their choice to better the lives of women and girls in Chester County.

Delaware County Community College

Seventy-seven students from the college were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), an invitation-only society for career and technical students who have earned at least a 3.0 GPA and nine college-level credits.

The newest inductees bring the total number of NTHS members at the college to 134. NTHS serves more than 100,000 student-members each year, and has awarded more than $1.7 million in scholarships to date.

In addition to scholarship opportunities, members benefit from resume assistance, as well as leadership and networking opportunities.
