Kennett Square resident Lisa Keys has won $10,000 in an Arnold Bread competition for a selfie she snapped of herself, her daughter, and her granddaughter enjoying a grilled cheese sandwich, writes John Chambless for the Chester County Press.

Keys, who entered her photo in March, discovered she was one of three nationwide winners on April 24.

The Bread Selfie Challenge coincides with March National Nutrition Month. Arnold Bread will make a donation for each submitted photo to No Kid Hungry to provide more than 42,000 meals nationwide.

That fact prompted Keys to enter the contest.

“My daughter enjoyed creating the photo with me and encouraged me to enter it,” said Keys. “For every entry, Arnold donated 20 meals to No Kid Hungry. Win or lose, how could one not support something like that?”

She also found that choosing the right sandwich for the photo was surprisingly easy.

“My mom used to make this delicious version of a grilled cheese sandwich for me when I was a kid,” said Keys.

She now plans to put most of her prize money away for her granddaughter’s education.
