Four Affiliate Partners of VISTA Today Among the 14 Great Places to Work Around the Main Line

A number of companies in Philadelphia’s western suburbs offer a good office environment, but some of them stand out as the best places to work thanks to exceptional perks and philanthropic opportunities, writes Lisa Dukart for Main Line Today.

Gawthrop Greenwood, Evolve IP, the Chester County Intermediate Unit, and Vanguard are listed among the 14 Great Places to Work Around the Main Line.

Employee happiness is a top priority at Gawthrop Greenwood, as exemplified by the West Chester firm’s “Happiness Committee.” This tasks paralegals, staff members, and administrators with organizing fun events. Gawthrop Greenwood, which employs around 30 people, also hosts an annual workday summer picnic, Starbucks gatherings, joint movie watching, and is involved with several local charities.

Evolve IP in Wayne favors openness above everything else, including a common workspace for everyone, including execs. Among the perks are frequent summer barbecues and outings to Phillies and Flyers games. Employees also volunteer their time at charities, which have received donations of $6 million from the company.

The CCIU offers an environment where employees work collaboratively. Perks include flexible hours during the summer and tuition reimbursement.

Malvern’s Vanguard employs more than 12,000 in Pennsylvania. It focuses on establishing positive relationships within the community through volunteerism, charitable giving, and stewardship.

“The crew members we attract to work here really care about being able to give back where they can and having Vanguard facilitate that giving back,” said Kyra Scalea, manager of community stewardship.

Employees participate in various nonprofit projects, including cleaning up parks and working in homeless shelters. The company offers a 50 percent match for philanthropic donations by employees. Also among the perks are family leave for both mothers and fathers and assistance in repaying student loans.

The Institutes in Malvern, RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve in Phoenixville, the Devon headquarters of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, and QVC also represented Chester County on the list of 14 Great Places to Work Around the Main Line.
