#8 Seven Chester County High Schools Among State’s Top 50 in SAT Scores

The Downingtown STEM Academy ranks second in Pennsylvania among public high schools with the highest scores on the SAT, according to a report in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Downingtown STEM Academy’s mean score for Evidence-Based Reading & Writing is 661, and its mean sore for Math is 656 for a total of 1,317.

Conestoga and Unionville high schools checked in at third and fifth, respectively. Conestoga had a Mean Total of 1,281, while Unionville scored 1,247.

Great Valley ranks 15th with a Mean Total of 1,208. Rustin is No. 35 with a Mean Total of 1,173, while West Chester East is No. 39 with a Mean Total of 1,170.

Henderson also cracked the Top 50 public high schools in the state, checking in at No. 47 with a Mean Total of 1,164.

The ranking is based on scores published by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for tests in 2017. However, due to changes in their measurement, they cannot be compared exactly with previous years.
