Citadel and its employees have donated $92,047 to the United Way of Chester County as part of the credit union’s annual fundraising campaign.

The employees alone provided donations of $49,000.

“Each year, Citadel employees get involved to help raise money for the United Way of Chester County and its affiliated local organizations,” said Maria Steffy, Citadel’s Chief Financial Officer.

As part of the campaign, Citadel employees form voluntary teams to help raise both money and awareness for a local network of services that support education, financial independence, and health. Citadel also sponsors United Way events throughout the year and gives a corporate donation of $33,000.

In addition to the annual fundraising campaign, Citadel encourages its employees to offer their time and talent to help corporate partner organizations or nonprofits of their choosing. This year alone, Citadel employees volunteered more than 455 hours to various community organizations across the region.

“It is inspiring to see a company in our community, such as Citadel, that is so passionate about caring for and wanting to help those in need,” said Claudia Hellebush, CEO of the United Way of Chester County.
