According to speakers at the Chester County Economic Development Council’s 14th Annual Economic Outlook, the Philadelphia region is looking at a rosy year, writes Brian McCullough for the Daily Local News.

“If you look throughout history, there are not many times as sweet as they are today,” said James Glassman, managing director and head economist for commercial banking at JPMorgan Chase.

Glassman, Patti Brennan, CEO of Key Financial, and Gary Smith, the CCEDC’s president, spoke in front of the crowd of around 120 at the council’s Eagleview headquarters.

Discussing the big picture in Chester County, Smith said that prosperity will continue into the New Year. He said the county is the wealthiest in the state and 12th-wealthiest nationwide.

Glassman also said that the three million millennials, who left the job market to return to school during the Great Recession, are now back in the workforce.

“The crisis is behind us,” he said.
