Dining Services and Wait Staff

Barclay Friends has multiple positions open for both full-time and part-time workers. These positions service residents and guests in the Turk’s Head Care, Neighborhood Dining Rooms, and any other designated dining room by providing information to help with food and beverage selection; presenting ordered choices; maintaining dining ambiance.

Utility Worker

This position will maintain a high level of sanitation and organization in the Dining Services Department by washing all pots, pans, glassware, and utensils. Duties include proper receiving, handling, and storage of Dining Service supplies based on (SOPs) and federal regulations.

The position is full-time, 72 hours per pay period (two weeks), and includes working every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.

Memory Care Coordinator

This position plans and coordinates the implementation of a full recreational activity program for all residents in the memory support program. He/she will provide personal care to residents as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience working with older adults with dementia. He/she must demonstrate patience to work with residents at all cognitive levels, and must display a keen interest in research related to dementia and be willing to learn and implement best practices in the field. The person must be willing to learn the state of Pennsylvania’s Personal Care regulations, and must pass Direct Care Training course and have current CPR and First Aid Certification.

Skilled Nursing

Barclay Friends has five openings for Certified Nursing Assistants, five openings for Registered Nurses, two openings for Licensed Practical Nurses, one opening for an Education Coordinator, and one opening for a Unit Secretary. The positions are full time, part time, weekends, day shifts, and night shifts.

CNAs provide residents with quality care by providing physical, psychosocial, and social support within the guidelines of established practice. The ideal candidates will have successfully completed an approved nursing assistant program and certification exam. They must be able to stand and walk most of their shift, and be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, and transfer residents weighing 50 to 250 pounds. They should also be able to appropriately deal with challenging resident behaviors, attitudes, and demands.

Registered nurses and LPNs promote and restore resident health by providing nursing care as determined by the needs of the residents and their individual plans of care. They complete daily care/medications, and supervise staff members. The ideal candidates will have current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Professional Nurse.

The Education Coordinator provides education services for the colleagues of Barclay Friends under direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator in the absence of Director of Nursing. He/she is responsible for offering support services to the Clinical Care Coordinator and nursing staff during times of increased acuity of the neighborhoods. The person works with local colleges, universities, and technical programs to coordinate clinical rotations, and ensures students are educated to Barclay Friends Policies and Procedures before starting their clinical studies.
