Devon-Based Surrey to Host Presentation by ‘Most Famous Art Detective in the World’

The Wall Street Journal called him “a living legend.” The London Times dubbed him “the most famous art detective in the world.”

Surrey Services for Seniors, a Devon-based nonprofit, and The Main Line Antiques Show will host an evening talk with Robert Wittman, founder of the FBI’s National Art Crime Team, on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 6-9 PM at Surrey’s location in Devon.

The seminar – entitled “The Three F’s of Art Crime: Frauds, Forgeries, and Fakes” – will discuss the true stories behind the headlines of the largest and most interesting frauds ever perpetrated in the art and collectible world.

Wittman, who served for 20 years as an investigative expert for the FBI, is the president of Glen Mills-based Robert Wittman Inc., the international art recovery, protection, and security firm. He is responsible for recovering more than $300 million in stolen art and cultural property from around the world.

Wittman is also the author of Priceless: How I Went Uncover to Rescue the World’s Stolen Treasures, which became a New York Times Bestseller.
