Chadds Ford-Based Startup Hoping Investors Sleep Well at Night

Through a health-first approach to online mattress sales, a new Chadds Ford startup is aiming to find business nirvana by jumping in bed with the $15 billion mattress industry and waking up in the $3.7 trillion wellness industry.
Founder Alvaro Vaselli started Nuvanna about a year ago with $1.2 million from friends and family members, and he’s now asking angel investors for another round of $1.5 million, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Michelle Caffrey.

“There’s a high level of interest when you talk about helping people live a more balanced life,” Vaselli said.
To do that, Nuvanna is focusing on branded content that helps readers — and hopefully future buyers — lead more healthy lives.
“We want people to connect to the brand on a deeper and more emotional level,” he said. “It’s a reminder that when they go to bed, they need to take a deep breath, they need to quiet their mind, they need to be grateful.”
Nuvanna offers a three-month trial with every online purchase, and returns get donated to The Salvation Army.
