Turbo blower manufacturer Aerzen USA propelled its Coatesville business toward a future goal of $100 million in revenue this week by blowing open the new doors of its $7 million expansion, according to a Daily Local News report by Brian McCullough.

Aerzen’s 40,000 square feet of new space also blows away sustainability advocates with its LEED certification, highlighted by turf paver fire lanes, a food bank vegetable garden, rain gardens, rain collection tanks, solar panels, solar tube lighting, geothermal heating, earth tube cooling, and recycled furniture, among other green innovations.

“I must admit to thinking, ‘Hey, what are they doing?’” parent Aerzen Germany CEO Hasso Heller told employees. “So now you have to earn it back.”

The new facility doubles the office footprint and adds 30 percent more manufacturing capacity for Aerzen’s 110 workers, who make blowers, compressors, and vacuum pumps for water treatment plants, chemical and food processors, cement and steel producers, and miners.

“We are very much interested in helping the county meet its Vista 2025 goals,” said Aerzen manager and Manufacturing Alliance of Chester and Delaware Counties Chairman Ralf Weiser. “We are kind of an example of how manufacturing has come back. We can do a green building and make it significant and make it profitable.”
