“We started this Cigar Dinner about 10 or 12 years ago,” said Steve Becker, Manager of Cigar Cigars. “Back then, when you could smoke in a restaurant or bar, it was common practice to bring cigar smokers together to enjoy a nice meal.
“Nowadays, though, there are less and less venues for a Cigar Dinner. The Desmond’s outdoor area is absolutely perfect. It brings cigar lovers together. It’s just a great night out.”
The dinner menu includes:
- Chef-selected hors d’oeuvres
- Kingfish crudo, tuna tartar, elderflower bath, and peppercorn crisp paired with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
- Five-spice beef short rib, seared Australia wagyu loin, spicy haricots verts, crushed Jerusalem artichokes, and cauliflower paired with New Zealand Pinot Noir and Australia Chardonnay
- Semolina cake, orange custard, chocolate ganache, pistachio, and macerated prune paired with Australian Cabernet
“We’re going with a Down Under theme,” Chris Yamamoto, The Desmond’s Director of Restaurants, said, referencing the wine selection.
