2120 Creative

Downingtown-based 2120 Creative, a national digital marketing firm most recently known as Synergema Consulting Group, was recently awarded the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award.

Founded in 2005 by President Brandon Steiger and his partner and wife, Heather Steiger, the firm began as a web development company and has grown into a fully integrated digital marketing agency with an additional office in Spokane, Wash.

“At this pivotal point in our company’s evolution, we couldn’t ask for a stronger show of support than to be honored by the people closest to us, who know us best,” said Brandon Steiger. “We are exceedingly grateful to our friends and neighbors in the Main Line Chamber of Commerce who recognized our commitment and wanted to honor our team.”

Landscapes3

The Chester County Board of Commissioners announced this week the next step in the Landscapes3 process – the creation of a steering committee to guide the development of the new county comprehensive plan.

The steering committee will be co-chaired by three Chester County leaders representing key sectors of the county’s drive to balance growth and preservation:

  • Chris Alonzo, President of Pietro Industries and Chair of the Chester County Agricultural Development Council
  • Matthew Hammond, Executive Vice President of Traffic Planning and Design and Chair of the Chester County Planning Commission
  • Molly Morrison, President of Natural Lands and a member of the Chester County Planning Commission

“We have asked select individuals to volunteer their time and expertise to collectively serve as a sounding board in the development of Landscapes3, our plan for the county’s future,” said Michelle Kichline, Chair of the Chester County Commissioners. “The members of the steering committee represent a wide range of interests, from preservation to farming, from educators and municipal officials to business leaders.”

The development of the Landscapes3 plan will begin this fall.

National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum

The Graystone Society’s National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum (NISHM) is planning a major expansion, thanks to $45,000 in state funding.

The funds will be used for costs related to the acquisition of two historic mill buildings, the 120” rolling mill and the motor house. Eventually, the buildings will be used to house and display large-scale museum exhibits, most notably, 28 pieces of steel from the wreckage of the World Trade Center – the largest such collection known in existence.

One of the massive 50-ton tridents from the World Trade Center is currently on display outside the mill. Additional tridents will be re-erected there in the exact formation as they stood on the northeast corner of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

“There is a sense of pride here,” said Scott G. Huston, NISHM President. “People come back and they want to look at the mill buildings. They want to see where their fathers and grandfathers worked.”

3SI Security Systems

LLR Partners, a private equity firm based in Philadelphia, has acquired Malvern’s 3SI Security Systems, a global leader in asset protection systems and an innovator of GPS tracking technologies. LLR will support the company’s continued growth through expanded sales and marketing, further technology infrastructure development, and strategic acquisitions.

Protecting more than 250,000 client locations worldwide, 3SI’s innovative solutions combat crime through GPS tracking, dye and ink staining, and gas neutralization technology specializing in the Financial, Retail, Cash in Transit, and Law Enforcement markets.

“For more than 45 years, 3SI has helped create a safer world by protecting and recovering stolen cash and other high-value assets and stopping criminals,” said Todd Leggett, CEO of 3SI Security Systems. “I am excited to build on our success in the financial services and retail markets, and to continue our momentum with LLR as our strategic partner.”

Grocery Outlet Bargain Market

Ten Grocery Outlet Bargain Market stores throughout the state of Pennsylvania came together in early 2017 to raise more than $10,000 in much-needed funds to go toward saving and improving the lives of children fighting muscle disease.

A Grocery Outlet executive will present the check to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in a special ceremony to be held at the Coatesville store located at 1851 East Lincoln Highway at 11 AM on Friday, June 30.

“Muscular disease affects the lives of so many Americans whose ability to walk, run, and even breathe are compromised by this disease, limiting their strength and independence,” said Paul Schmidt, senior director of sales and merchandising for Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. “We’re proud to partner once again for this worthy cause and are moved by the generosity of both our customers and employees who donated in order to help those affected by the disease.”

Innovative Solutions & Support

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded supplemental type certification for Exton-based Innovative Solutions & Support’s non-Fadec turboprop autothrottle, writes Ashley Burns for Flying magazine.

The company said this week the autothrottle is now available to a market that features at least 25 different aircraft and more than 13,000 individual tail numbers.
