Your Best Year Ever: Slow Down to Go Faster

In your quest to make this year your best ever, you have to take the time to review your goals, reflect on where you are at mid-year, and where you are going.

Are you really where you want to be? Are you doing what you really want to be doing in your business to produce the greatest results possible? What are your goals, and are you on track or off track, are you ahead of schedule or behind schedule? Are you increasing profits or are you losing money? Are you really focused on what really matters most in your business and personal life?

Now is the time to reflect on these questions, with pen in hand to crystalize your thinking about your future. Now is the time to stop and pause to review, recover, reenergize, and recharge your motivation to finish the year strong. As always, the best predictor of the future is your current attitude and behavior.

If you are not where you want to be, you need to change your attitude and behavior. It is delusional to think that we can improve our results with the same habits, the same strategies, the same beliefs, and the same work ethic that got us here today.

Awareness is crucial for any long-term change to occur. It’s the doorway to opportunity and change, the compass to plot your path to positive personal development. Awareness creates greater choices in our lives.

You can’t fill up your gas tank once and expect your car to take you across the country. You can’t take a shower once and expect to stay clean forever. You can’t exercise once and expect to stay healthy. Likewise, you can’t review your goals once and expect to stay motivated to achieve them.

My mantra has always been: plan, do, track, and review.
