Executive Director of Good Works, a Coatesville Nonprofit, Receives Prestigious Award

By

Bob Beggs

Bob Beggs, the Executive Director of Good Works, was recently honored at the Blue Bell Country Club in Montgomery County as Member of the Year by the C12 Group of Greater Philadelphia.

A nonprofit based in Coatesville, Good Works is a home-repair ministry that has served the needs of low-income families in Chester County since 1988. The group not only transforms substandard houses into warmer, safer, and drier homes, but also transforms despair into hope. Its services are offered to homeowners at no cost and volunteers do most of the repairs.

The goal of Good Works is to see the inhabitants of these homes rise above their level of poverty and experience a richness through being cared for and knowing that their circumstances matter to their community.

Last year alone, the organization assisted 200 families, and most of the work was accomplished by more than 1,600 dedicated volunteers. Good Works believes that everyone benefits when people from different races, cultures, and backgrounds join together in a common purpose.

The C12 Group is the largest network of Christian CEOs, business owners, and executives across North America.

The annual award recognizes leaders who live up to C12 standards of biblical leadership, faith, transparency, accountability, and trustworthiness.

Good Works will also be recognized this month by KYW Newsradio as a Game Changer in the African-American Community.
