Scheduler

This position conducts comprehensive patient interviews by obtaining and verifying important information, and assigns benefit coordination in the hospital’s information system. He/she maintains and protects patients’ confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. The person accurately completes MSP and ABN documentation as needed, and scans documentation into patient records. He/she ensures complete accuracy when scheduling patients’ exams.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. He/she will have previous registration and/or insurance verification experience. The person will have knowledge of medical terminology and good computer skills, including the ability to learn new software applications.

Director, Case Manager

This position directs daily activities for the successful attainment of concurrent and retroactive authorization for inpatient care from third-party payors. He/she completes discharge assessments and plans while maintaining patient satisfaction and compliance with external regulatory agencies. The person organizes, coordinates, educates, evaluates, and leads case management staff in the acute care units and the emergency department.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a health-related field. He/she will have five years of case management experience and five years of progressive management experience in an acute-care setting.

Coding Quality Specialist

This position coordinates daily workflow of medical records, monitoring the unbilled accounts report for outstanding uncoded accounts that must be assigned to coding staff as necessary. He/she conducts quality reviews to validate coding and DRG and APC assignments to ensure compliance with coding guidelines. The person evaluates documentation for incomplete or inconsistent documentation in the record that impacts coding and DRG and APC assignment.

The ideal candidate will preferably possess a bachelor’s degree in health information management, nursing, or a related field. RHIA and RHIT certifications are preferred. He/she will have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and clinical disease process. The person will have a minimum of four years of previous work experience coding medical records.
