9.15.2015 Liberty Property TrustAfter finally completing the preparation stages, including acquiring the land and getting all the development rights and permits, Liberty Property Trust is ready to roll up its sleeves and dive into the construction of its $1 billion Camden Waterfront project, writes Jacob Adelman for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Malvern-based Liberty Property Trust spent 15 months on preparatory work for the project, gathering approvals and negotiating agreements. According to the company, the first phase of the development will include the construction of One Water Street, a five-story office project that will cover 222,376 square feet, and will serve as the corporate headquarters of American Water when it is finalized in late 2018.

Early work will also soon commence on the parking garage with 806 spaces and on the infrastructure to support the overall development of the mixed-use neighborhood planned for the site.

The company said that it has also reached an agreement with Dranoff Properties, owner of a property located near the Camden Waterfront site that will lose its unimpeded view of the Delaware River due to the development.
