State Senator Andy Dinniman has announced that 10 conservation and outdoors projects in Chester County will receive a total of $3.8 million in funding thanks to the Pennsylvania Community Conservation Partnerships Grant Program, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

The biggest recipients of the funding are Natural Lands Trust and the Conservation Fund. They will each receive $1 million: the former for the acquisition of 300 acres located in West Vincent for open space and watershed preservation, and the latter for the purchase of land to expand the White Clay Creek Preserve.

East Goshen Township also received both a $250,000 and $268,000 grant for the rehabilitation and further development of East Goshen Park and the development of the Paoli Pike Trail.

Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County received $160,000 for the acquisition of close to 30 acres located in Kennett Township. Meanwhile, West Pikeland Township can move forward with the development of Walnut Lane Community Park, thanks to a $200,000 grant.

“These grants can go a long way in not only protecting our environment, but also increasing recreational opportunities for residents and families throughout the region,” said Dinniman.
