Bondholders of the White Manor Country Club in Malvern are set to vote on whether to put the club set on 160-plus acres of pristine Chester County land up for sale, writes Brian McCullough for the Daily Local News.

Concert Golf Partners from Newport Beach, Calif., has approached the bondholders of the club with an offer of $46,000 an acre. The club, considered one of the top golfing destinations in the region, is currently struggling to keep its membership numbers up, just like many other clubs nationwide.

However, many members and local residents are concerned that in a few years after the sale, the land could end up being turned into a housing development. Not only that, but similar land near the club is selling for around $88,000 an acre, which has prompted three other interested parties to come forward after the news of the potential sale.

“I’m not saying don’t do this,” one bondholder said. “I’m just saying it’s a rush job. I say delay the vote. Let’s explore these other opportunities first.”
