Originally from Surabaya in Indonesia, Way had an early start in business at her family’s lemonade and soy sauce factory. However, after a devastating crisis in 1997, she was sent away from Indonesia’s uncertainty to the United States.

Way seized the opportunity by finishing college and going on to create an impressive resume, including a position at IKEA Technology, where she helped build an online supply chain warehouse system.

In early 2015, she started her own business, Tamans, which helps area residents shop online directly from farmers for local produce and select a nearby pick-up location.

Way has already taken two courses this fall, accounting and financial modeling, and as this year’s Musser Fellow, she is helping the REV-UP Center for Entrepreneurship launch and grow.
