Founder of West Chester Nonprofit Wins ‘Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge’

unite-for-herPhiladelphia magazine hosted the Be Well Philly Health Hero Celebration last night at The College of Physicians, where it awarded the 2016 Health Hero, Sue Weldon of West Chester-based Unite for HER, with a $10,000 check for her nonprofit that helps women with breast cancer.

The Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge was started five years ago to celebrate and recognize local pioneers in the health and wellness industry for their contribution to the Philadelphia area.

Weldon, a native of Northeast Philadelphia and graduate of West Chester University, is the founder and president of Unite for HER, an organization that helps to bridge the gap between the medical and wellness communities for breast cancer patients.

Philadelphia magazine’s Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge was presented by Independence Blue Cross and sponsored by Prime Therapeutics.
