Fishing Wire from Coatesville Company Enables Tournament Team to Hit Jackpot in Cabo

By

afwA tournament team of fishermen this month utilized Coatesville-made AFW and HI-SEAS fishing line and tackle to catch a record payout on the warm waters off the coast of Cabo San Lucas.

Team Reel Quest, sponsored by Coatesville’s American Fishing Wire, hooked the biggest payout ever, $331,950, during the 2016 Western Outdoor News Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot, according to an OutdoorsFIRST staff report.

“HI-SEAS is stronger and more abrasion resistant than any line and fluorocarbon I have used,” Captain Tyson Valli said. “When the fish are big and the stress is high, HI-SEAS stands up to the fight.”

This year’s success wasn’t the only accolade for AFW, though. The same team also won the Tuna Jackpot tournament in 2013.

“Tyson and his team are truly top notch,” said Steve Miller, the sales director at AFW. “Watching how they work together fishing and the synergy between them is like no other. They put our products to the test day after day, and continue to achieve great things. We couldn’t be happier with our partnership over the years and look forward to many more exciting years to come.”
