Statewide, 47 percent of drivers have indicated a willingness to be organ donors, but the rate varies from county to county.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Chester County’s licensed drivers are rather generous with their organs.

Chester County has the state’s second-highest rate, at 56.85 percent, of drivers with the “organ donor” designation on their driver’s license.

The highest rate is 57.36 percent in Centre County, in the middle of the state. The lowest is 31.24 percent in Philadelphia.
