A simple ceremony to honor the soldiers buried at the Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in East Whiteland Township is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1 PM.

Veterans of every branch of service throughout Chester County are expected to attend.

According to a July 2016 article in the Philadelphia Inquirer, “many of the cemetery’s grave markers are unreadable. One of the last people buried there was Joshua Johnson, a Civil War veteran who fought with the U.S. Colored Troops regiment. He was born in 1846 and died in 1916.”
