9.15.2015 Liberty Property TrustAn extra two months will help Malvern-based Liberty Property Trust prepare for the first visible signs of its massive $1 billion transformation of the Camden waterfront into an iconic skyline.

Liberty just received the extension on the project’s due diligence phase from the state of New Jersey, which is providing lucrative incentives through its Grow New Jersey program, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Natalie Kostelni.

By early December, the Liberty should be ready to proceed with roads and utility work ahead of foundation work for a five-story American Water headquarters.

Agreements for three more buildings on the waterfront are also in the works.

Liberty’s original proposal for the 16-acre site called for “a mixed-use community that involves constructing up to 1.7 million square feet of office space in four to five buildings, four parking garages, a hotel with 120 to 140 rooms and 325 apartments.”
