Honey Brook auctioneer Ivan Stolzfus is hitting the road for the 2nd time to raise money for wounded veterans.

Inspired by the very military men and women for whom his cross-country tractor ride supported in 2014, Honey Brook auctioneer C. Ivan Stolzfus is hitting the road once again.

This time, the trip from his former family farm south of Honey Brook beginning Oct. 15 will visit the Gulf of Mexico in addition to the Pacific Ocean, and Stolzfus is aiming to raise $1 million for wounded veterans, according to a Berks-Mont News report by Carol Quaintance.

“Did you know that currently less than 2 percent of Americans serve in the military and 23 veterans a day commit suicide?” he asked in the article.

“That means that less than 2 percent of American citizens protect and fight for the freedom of the remaining 98 percent.

We must rally behind our American heroes who sacrifice time, energy, health and life for the rest of us.”

Officially branded Across America for Wounded Heroes, Stolzfus’ journey in the seat of his 1948 John Deere Model A tractor will embark with an opening ceremony and motorcycle police escort out of Honey Brook.

Once on the road, he’ll rely on the refuge of his pull-behind camper and the generosity of those he’ll meet.

“Life is short; follow your dream and God’s calling,” he said in the article.
