Heading into last Sunday’s NFL game against the Miami Dolphins, Derrick Morgan, an outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans and a 2007 graduate of Coatesville High School, had been playing pretty well this season, writes John Glennon for The Tennessean.

But he hadn’t recorded a sack through the first four games.

“I think it’s easier to put pressure on yourself when you’re not getting the numbers you want,” said Morgan, who played collegiately at Georgia Tech. “But I stayed diligent in my approach and didn’t waver.”

That approach paid dividends in the Titans’ win over the Dolphins, as the 27-year-old Morgan recorded his first two sacks of the season.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey hopes that fact will make the former first-round draft pick even more productive as the season continues.

“Hopefully, that’s like, you get one, (and there’s) more to come,” said Mularkey. “I’m hoping that’s the case.”
