Chadds Ford Gallery will be presenting an exhibit of original art, as well as signed limited and giclée editions of Chadds Ford native Paul Scarborough’s work titled “Scarborough Days – Another Visit to Scarborough Fair.” The public exhibit will open on September 16th at 5:00 p.m., and run until October 2nd.  For more information about the exhibit call 610 388 2412 or visit the gallery’s webpage here.

Target Shooting Solutions, the gun retailer that specializes in firearms, firearms accessories, and firearms equipment, opened the largest gun store in the tri-state area at the start of August. The store, at the former Boomer’s Entertainment Center off Route 41 employs over 40 people, features a 20-lane shooting range and has a huge classroom for firearms training courses.

Efforts to preserve the much-loved Barnard’s Orchard farm in Chester County are very close to succeeding. The Land Conservancy of Southern Chester County has nearly finished pulling together federal, county, and private funding to attain the $900,000 required. Gwen Lacy, executive director of the Conservancy, pointed out that it was the community rallying around the cause that really made it possible.

The Chester County Economic Development Foundation and Coatesville Area Partners for Progress have been awarded a grant from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation for their neighborhood revitalization initiative, Coatesville Growing Greater. A celebratory event will be held today starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Brandywine Health Center. “CCEDF plans to bring its experience and expertise to this effort to help Coatesville take full advantage of the economic and other opportunities that are emerging,” said Gary Smith, President of the CCEDF.
