Jill Miller and Tina O’Connor – a pair of licensed professional counselors and pillars of the Parkesburg community who run separate businesses but share the same office space – have found a new home for their practices.

Miller’s Lantern Counseling and O’Connor’s Experience Positive Therapy, which once occupied space in a mini strip mall on Lincoln Highway, near the intersection of Routes 30 and 10, have moved into the borough, further embedding themselves in the community.

They now rent 226 Main Street in Parkesburg. Each has lived in the Octorara School District for more than 15 years.

“When our prior lease was up, we talked about finding a place in Parkesburg, a place that gives us the feeling of being in the neighborhood,” said Miller. “Our new building has a lot of history – it used to be a bank.

“I’ve already had clients tell me how much they appreciate the move, that now they’re in walking distance.”

Miller not only draws clients who live in the surrounding areas of Atglen, Christiania, Cochranville, and Gap, but also Honey Brook, Coatesville, and Downingtown. She offers a wide range of services, including mental-health counseling, support for people enduring transitions and grief, and couples therapy.

O’Connor also counsels people from the immediate area, as well as from further locales in Chester County like Oxford, Malvern, and West Chester. She specializes in treating depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, and self-esteem issues, but works with clients in a number of other capacities.

O’Connor likes the ambience their new professional home affords.

“This building has a whole lot more character than the one we were in, that’s for sure,” she said.
