Expressing her dark journey through chronic pain, Sarah Bigham’s “Medical History, Reimagined” art show is coming to Kennett Square Aug. 6-7.

It’s been a dark, harrowing road for artist Sarah Bigham, who is now leading those who dare along a visual journey through her chronic pain. Bigham’s work of art, titled “Medical History, Reimagined,” is about to be showcased during an Aug. 6 and 7 art show at the Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery in Kennett Square.

“I have found it challenging to not only explain my pain to others but to see my health history told in charts, lists, forms and electronic medical records,” Bigham said in a previous VISTA Today introduction of her work. “To me, being a chronic pain survivor and warrior encompasses color and narrative, and I have searched for ways to share my story of chronic pain, one shared by millions of people, in more expressive ways.”

Her “Medical History, Reimagined” has achieved just that, and it will be placed on display from 3 to 7 p.m. both days of the show.

Join Bigham herself for an inspirational artist lecture in the Red Lion Room on Aug. 7 at 3 p.m., provided with food and wine.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Interstitial Cystitis Association and the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association.
