Chadds Ford native Garrett Neff, one of America’s most photographed models who is best known for his work with Calvin Klein, has unveiled the new line of his men’s swimwear. And–believe it or not–the line features a color palette influenced by the famous artist from Neff’s hometown, Andrew Wyeth.

Neff launched Katama, a brand inspired by the Katama area of Martha’s Vineyard, writes Aria Hughes for Women’s Wear Daily, the “fashion bible” that provides news on key trends to an audience of retailers, designers, marketers, and financiers.

Wyeth was known for his landscape paintings with egg-shell finishes, which, in Neff’s line, showed through in chocolate brown and dusty pink swim trunks decorated with contrast piping, knit yellow swim shorts and navy sweaters.

Neff’s Uncle John, a former Navy Seal and avid outdoorsman, inspired the prints in the line, which included an illustrated image of a man holding a fishing net or an oar. This print appeared on swim trunks and was blown up as a single graphic on a tank top.

Swim shorts covered in boating stripes were modeled after an old bathing suit Neff wore as a child.

Neff also designed pieces that complemented the swimwear — mesh knit tanks, poly cotton joggers, and polo shirts — but could easily be worn on the street.
