“I remember standing in the hallway at Conestoga High School when 9/11 happened. I came home and turned on the TV and I never really stopped watching,“ recalls MSNBC reporter Kasie Hunt, according to a staff report from Philadelphia Style Magazine.

That proved to be a pivotal moment in the Wayne native’s life. She decided that her already strong interest in the news would translate into a career as a journalist.

Now a resident of Washing D.C., she is returning home in July to cover the Democratic National Conference, and also to spend some time introducing her fellow journalists to the area she grew up in.

“It’s fun to tell people which restaurants to try or to go run up the Art Museum steps,” she said. “I’m surprised by how much I remember.”

She recalls great times exploring Valley Forge Park and being taken to games at Veterans Stadium while she was growing up.

Since then her life has changed, as her career with MSNBC as a political correspondent has led her across the country following the latest developments. This included being the first person to interview Donald Trump after he announced he was running for President.

“I’ve traveled to nearly all of the 50 states, so I’ve realized how much it means to come home.”
