Kennett Square Presents Historic Preservation Awards

Kennett Square borough officials have recognized homeowners for improvements to their homes in the historic district with Historic Preservation Awards. Recipients of the honor were Bob and Debbie Norris and Pat and Silvia Mahon for renovations on 221 and 231 S. Union St. respectively, Anita D’Amico for exterior upgrades at 204 N. Union St. and Susan Froning’s carriage house restoration on Church Alley.

T-shirt Design Competition for Phoenixville Firebird Festival Underway

The Phoenixville Firebird Festival committee has opened its second annual T-shirt logo design contest with submissions accepted until the end of June through phoenixvillefirebird@gmail.com. The designs, which will be voted on by the public throughout July, need to have a maximum of three colors, include the year 2016 in the design, and have to be signed by the artist.

Genex Services Acquires Med-Eval

Genex Services, the Wayne based leader in medical cost containment and disability management services, has acquired Med-Eval, a leading provider of independent medical examination and diagnostic network services for the workers’ compensation and automotive claims market. Under the deal, Med-Eval’s management and staff will remain in place and continue operations under its brand, while Mike Valasek, Med-Eval President and CEO, will join Genex as Vice President of IME services.

Sikorsky Demonstrates Autonomous Systems with 30-mile S-76 Helicopter Flight

Sikorsky has completed a 30-mile autonomous flight from the company’s Stratford facility to Robertson Airport in Plainville using a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter flown using a tablet device. The demonstration completes Phase 1 of an $8m award from the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automation System program, which develops new levels of automation into existing military and commercial aircraft.
